Meet Dr. Franklin
Imagine the Possibilities
Dr. Brittney Franklin
Dr. Franklin grew up in South Central Pennsylvania, graduating from Shippensburg High School at the top of her class. She was involved in several sports, but especially competitive swimming, and was even able to compete at the state level. She attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA for her bachelor’s degree, where she graduated with highest honors in 2003. During her time at UVA, she worked at local restaurants, enjoyed hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains and participated in a Christian singing group, Jubilate, as well as club water polo.
She attended the University of Pittsburgh for her doctorate in dental medicine (DMD) from 2003-2007. In dental school Dr. Franklin was awarded the prestigious Dean’s Scholarship, and she was selected to be inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. During this time she was involved in research with the Cranio-Facial Genetics Department.
In 2009 she also received her Orthodontics Specialty Certificate and Masters in Oral Biology (MS) from Temple University Kornberg School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. During her residency, Dr. Franklin conducted research that focussed on 3D imaging and facial esthetics.
After residency, Dr. Franklin moved to Baltimore, MD, and worked in female-led private practices in the area. Her experiences in these offices were invaluable and ultimately inspired her to create her own practice with her own style. In 2013 Dr. Franklin returned home to South Central PA to open an orthodontic office with a single employee and zero patients. Since this time Franklin Orthodontics has grown tremendously to become a thriving part of the Chambersburg community, supporting her team and treating thousands of patients. Dr. Franklin is grateful every day to be a part of her patients’ and employees’ lives, and she is committed to helping to build and support the confidence of her patients by creating beautiful, welcoming smiles.
Dr. Franklin strongly believes in lifelong improvement and education. She regularly participates in the Cumberland Valley Dental Society and is an active member of the Pennsylvania Dental Association (PDA) and the American Dental Association (ADA). She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), and she is a current board member for the Pennsylvania Association of Orthodontists (PAO). Dr. Franklin also loves taking the whole team to continuing education events as a way to bond and improve as an office.
Dr. Franklin and her husband, Edward, have been blessed with three children, two girls and a boy, as well as their fur baby, Kashmir the cat. Dr. Franklin loves going to the park with the kids and traveling when she can. She also enjoys cooking and baking at home, and swimming with the Chambersburg Chargers Master’s swimming team.
